This toy is a combination turntable and mixer that will immerse you into the authentic DJ culture allowing you to scratch, cross-fade, and beat match.
With this toy you will have the ability to battle your friends or jam together at home or online with two turntables or one turntable and a Guitar Hero guitar controller. The Game bundle includes software for Xbox 360 and the exclusive turntable/mixer controller that allows players to scratch and mix their way to hero status. It also features a variety of unique musical content from 80+ DJ mixes of multiple music genres including Hip Hop, Dance, Rock, Pop and R&B.
The music in the single player demo was great, they tended towards mashups between an older song and something new and Poppy. Which actually worked really well.
I pulled it out when a bunch of friends were over and had them each try it out. Everybody enjoyed themselves very much, though the right handed people had an inexplicable difficulty scratching with the blue button and the one guy who was into DJ's and such complained that the music was too mainstream.
DJ Hero is similar to the Guitar Hero / Rock Band games, but now they give you a turntable to "spin" and lots of dance music to play with. I loved the mental aspect of this challenge, trying to do two things at once, but the physical controller to slide is a royal pain.
Rating: a low 4/5 for fans of dance music.
I have this for the Wii. Cool music and cool game, a lot more involved that the drums or guitar in the other Harmonix games. The cross fader along with the some of the more involved features (such as rewind) make this a much different experience. The unique mashups are also very cool.
If you love music do not miss this game!
Overall, I think DJ Hero is a breath of fresh air to the repetitive-looking music video game scene. If you want something fresh, something funky and something to add to your already booming Guitar Hero collection then this is it.

I love this game! I really do, the tunes are top notch and the interface is fun. I’ve only got myself as far as medium mode so far, it isn’t easy. But it’s worth it, they have gone and got a lot of big name DJs to produce tunes too – go and buy it!
